Makkah Route Benefitted 68,721 Hajj Pilgrims So Far

MADINAH: This Hajj season, the Makkah Route programme has benefitted 68,721 pilgrims until Wednesday.

The Makkah Route initiative is being carried out by the Interior Ministry in collaboration with its partners as a part of the Saudi Arabian Pilgrim Experience Programme, one of the Saudi Vision 2030 programmes.

The initiative is being implemented in Indonesia, Morocco, Pakistan, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Turkiye, and Ivory Coast for the first time.

The passengers arrived at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah and King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah on 189 flights.

The initiative aims to finish passport procedures at the airport of the country of departure after confirming the health requirements and coding and sorting luggage in accordance with transportation and lodging arrangements in the Kingdom. The initiative begins with electronically issuing the visa and capturing the vital characteristics.
