ISLAMABAD: The security forces have gunned down two terrorists of banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), during a joint operation in Malakand, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported on Sunday.
The operation was carried out by a joint team of the police and security forces in which three of the security personnel were also injured.
According to reports received from CTD Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Counter Terrorism Department, sufficient number of weapons and cartridges were also seized from the hideout of the dead terrorists. The CTD said the dead terrorists were in contact with their operatives in Afghanistan.
CTD Arrests Two Terrorists in Lahore
In a separate operation in Lahore on Saturday, CTD Punjab arrested two terrorists belonging to a banned organization.
According to media reports quoting CTD Punjab,1,320-gm explosives, four nonelectric detonators, pistol and proscribed literature were recovered from the accused.
