To improve UAE diplomats’ understanding of international relations, the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy in Abu Dhabi has introduced a new teaching platform.
The initiative, known as TRAIN@AE, was developed in association with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the General Secretariat of the Cabinet. According to Tuesday’s article by the Emirates News Agency, it aims to improve diplomats’ abilities in accordance with the UAE’s foreign policy goals and its global diplomatic reputation.
“TRAIN@AE supports the… UAE government’s objective of enhancing international cooperation in line with the ‘We The UAE 2031’ vision… to make an immensely positive impact on both society and the world,” said Dr. Mohamed Al-Dhaheri, deputy director-general of AGDA.
The research faculty from AGDA traveled to six capital cities to hold lectures and panel discussions with UAE diplomats and Emirati students on a variety of subjects, such as climate change, GCC relations with countries in Asia and Africa, and the place of women in diplomatic leadership and service.
The talks, which began at the UAE Embassy in Cairo, according to Director-General Nickolay Mladenov, were in keeping with the academy’s mission to assist the government’s foreign policy.
Along with the lecture series, the researchers also held “Generation Diplomacy,” which gave veteran diplomats from various UAE embassies a stage to impart their knowledge to aspirant foreign policy practitioners from all over the world.
One of the UAE’s transformation initiatives, TRAIN@AE aims to advance the nation and increase its competitiveness.
