Buddha’s Birthday: Indonesia, Thailand Ambassadors Laud Pakistan Efforts to Promote Gandhara Tourism

ISLAMABAD:  Pakistan’s Prime Minister Task Force on Gandhara Tourism has celebrated religious teacher Buddha’s Purnima to pay him homage.

An event was held in the connection at the Islamabad Museum. The event was attended by art lovers, officials, and other dignitaries.

Minister of State Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani said that visualizing the immense potential in tourism around Gandhara civilization, Pakistan is making all-out efforts to further promote Gandhara tourism in the south Asian country.

Pakistan Wants to Promote Gandhara Tourism

Talking to Wenews, he said that Pakistan is home to a multitude of heritage sites, historic buildings and monuments which shows the varied layers of history of this region. The rich Gandhara heritage of the South Asian country is an iconic miracle in the entire globe as Gandhara art is a major attraction for Buddhists from across the world.

Gandhara, which is located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan, has appeared as a center of Buddhist learning, culture and art and also played a key role in the history of Buddhism.

On the occasion, Ambassador of Indonesia in Pakistan Adam M Tugio lauded the efforts and steps of Pakistan to promote Gandhara Tourism. He hoped that people across the world would also play their role to highlight this unique civilization and culture. He asked the people to visit Pakistan to explore the diversity and beauty of the South Asian country.

Thailand envoy to Pakistan Chakkrid Kraichaiwong appreciated Islamabad’s efforts to promote Gandhara Tourism and civilization.
