The knowledge center, the name of which translates to “my knowledge” in Arabic language, will be a complete available Innovation Center and Science Discovery.
The center will be set up at Mohammed bin Salman Nonprofit City in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh and set to open for youth in 2025. It spans over 27,000 square meters and reflects the city’s goals and targets to exemplify sustainability and creativity through integration in its natural surroundings and widespread landscaping, and to make utilize of natural light.
The knowledge project aims to empower and inspire youth across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to create and explore, as well as to address challenges hands-on, Arab media reported said, saying ilmi’s core is a very unique approach and design that seeks to project a quality and detailed picture of how youth across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) best connect with STREAM subjects.
Princess Sara said ilmi “will offer all youth and lifelong learners the capacity to realize their potential, further drive advances in Saudi Arabia, and help shape the future. Together, I hope that we will all develop ilmi, and support and inspire our future generation.”
The project is a non-government and philanthropic initiative incubated and supported by the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation as one of its subsidiaries, and will also operate in partnership with Mohammed bin Salman Nonprofit City.
The knowledge center will also host planned permanent exhibitions that will be based about three core themes: Our Selves, Our World, and Our Inventions. The center will also focus on subjects including ecosystems, AI and space.
It will host a variety of installations, talks, performances, events, and learning partner programs designed to build a new STREAM community in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The knowledge center will also offer an integrated digital forum combined with a series of pop-up learning experiences across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). It will also start to go live this summer, and aim to get youth, families, parents, and friends of all ages and capacities excited and engaged in STREAM before ilmi’s physical home starts.
The center will also hold a series of live knowledge activations that will explore the STREAM content behind each digital and technical challenge and encourage friends and families to work together in order to create and build solutions live.
