KARACHI: Mahmood Moulvi, being selected as MNA from PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) Karachi on Tuesday, announced parting ways with the party, a private news channel reported.
He announced his decision while addressing a press conference here in Karachi adding that he was resigning from the party (PTI) in the context of the recent attacks on military installations during violent protests on May 9 across the country soon after the arrest of Party Chief Imran Khan.
Mahmood further said that he had never gone against, nor will he go against the army in the future. On his next move, he said that he would either form a new political party or would join a charitable organization soon.

Mahmood Moulvi worked as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister in the Maritime Affairs Department during Imran Khan’s led PTI government and also SERVED as a Federal Advisor in the Ministry of Maritime Affairs of former Federal Minister Ali Zaidi.
In 2022, he defeated MQM-P Moeed Anwar and was elected as MNA from NA-245 Karachi while getting 29,475 votes against 13,193 votes by Moeed Anwar as runner-up. The seat was vacant after the death of Dr Amir Liaqat Hussain in June.
