ISLAMABAD: President Dr. Arif Alvi advised the children to work hard as it was vital to achieving progress and success in life.
President Alvi, addressing an Iftar reception he hosted for the orphan children at Aiwan-e-Sadr here on Thursday, urged them to adopt the characteristics of love and compassion and show respect to their elders.
He told them that Allah Almighty had ordered to treat the orphan children well in the Holy Quran.
Hard work opens new avenues
He reiterated that hard work would open up new avenues for success in their practical lives.
Drawing a similarity with Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAWW), the president said the Holy Prophet had also lost his beloved father in childhood.
Earlier, while addressing the gathering, Abdul Shakoor, Chairman of Pakistan Orphans Care Forum, said that the 15th of Ramazan is being observed as Orphans Day.
He said around eighteen welfare organizations were helping with the health, food, education, and other needs of more than four million orphan children nationwide.
He also urged for coordinated efforts at the government and national level to support the orphan kids in their upbringing and provide them with maximum opportunities to excel in their lives.
