ISLAMABAD: Illegally detained All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Chairman Masarat Alam Butt said Friday that that India, for over seventy-years, has been hindering the just solution to the Kashmir issue.
In a message from India’s infamous Tihar jail, he said that the people of Kashmir have the right to pursue the solution of the Kashmir issue as per their aspirations and wishes.

He said that permanent peace will endure to elude South Asian region, unless the lingering Kashmir dispute is resolved. He was of the view that peace in South Asia, and the world, was at stake because of India’s stubbornness, and Islamabad has always advocated for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue via result-oriented talks with New Delhi.
Masarat Alam Butt said, “Modi must remember that New Delhi’s policy of repression is bound to fail in the IIOJK. India must be clearly told to fulfill its promises made before the UN to resolve the issue of Kashmir.
He further said that the global community has a responsibility in helping resolve the issue of Kashmir and asked the United Nations to play its rightful role and resolve the dispute of Kashmir, as per its UNSC resolutions.
