RAWALPINDI: Pakistan have found their six-hitting king in Fakhar Zaman, whose powerful stroke over deep midwicket against Sri Lanka on Tuesday took him into an exclusive club as the country’s first batter to hit 100 sixes in T20 Internationals.

The 36-year-old left-hander achieved the landmark in just 113 innings during the third and final T20I at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Having entered the match with 99 sixes, Fakhar needed only seven deliveries to reach the milestone, launching Sri Lankan pacer Binura Fernando over the boundary for a maximum.
Fakhar made his T20I debut in 2017 and has established himself as one of Pakistan’s most aggressive batters in the shortest international format. His record-breaking moment, however, was short-lived, as Eshan Malinga dismissed him for 12 off seven balls.

Fakhar tops Pakistan’s T20I six-hitting chart
Fakhar’s century of sixes puts him at the top of Pakistan’s T20I rankings, ahead of wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, who has struck 95 sixes in 93 innings. Captain Sahibzada Farhan occupies third place with 81 sixes in 50 innings, followed by former captain Babar Azam with 80 in 136 innings. Former all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez completes the top five with 76 sixes in 108 innings.

Who leads the world in T20I sixes?
While Fakhar rules Pakistan’s T20I six-hitting charts, the global record belongs to Austria’s Karanbir Singh, who has struck 214 sixes, according to career records updated in October 2026. India’s former captain Rohit Sharma follows with 205, while the United Arab Emirates’ Muhammad Waseem has 196.
England’s Jos Buttler is fourth with 192, followed by India’s Suryakumar Yadav with 179. New Zealand’s Martin Guptill has 173, Hong Kong’s Babar Hayat 167, Malaysia’s Syed Aziz 161, West Indies’ Rovman Powell 156 and Zimbabwe’s Sikandar Raza 151. These figures reflect men’s T20 Internationals, rather than all domestic and franchise T20 matches.
Pakistan recover after early collapse
Despite Fakhar’s early departure, Pakistan recovered from a middle-order collapse to post 168-8 in their 20 overs. The hosts slipped to 102-6 before captain Sahibzada Farhan and emerging all-rounder Arafat Minhas mounted a counterattack.
Their 66-run partnership lifted Pakistan to a competitive total, with Farhan top-scoring with 76 off 47 balls and Minhas remaining unbeaten on 34 off 20 deliveries.
