Japan Opens Global Logo Contest to Mark 75 Years with Pakistan

Citizens of Japan and Pakistan and people worldwide can submit original logo designs by October 23, 2026, to mark 75 years of diplomatic relations.

ISLAMABAD: Japan has invited designers, artists and creative enthusiasts from around the world to submit an original logo for the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Pakistan, which will be celebrated throughout 2027.

The winning design will become the official logo for the anniversary, featuring in events and activities organised during the year to commemorate 75 years of friendship, partnership and close ties between the two countries.

Logo competition opens to people worldwide

The competition is open to people of any age living anywhere in the world, with participants encouraged to create a design that reflects the enduring friendship and partnership between Japan and Pakistan.

Entries must be submitted digitally in JPEG, PDF or EPS format by email to the Southwest Asian Division of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs at [email protected] with “Logo Entry” in the subject line.

Participants must also provide a separate explanation of approximately 80 words describing the concept and significance of their design.

October 23 deadline for submissions

The deadline for entries is October 23, 2026, while the winning design is expected to be announced on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan website in late December 2026.

According to the competition guidelines, submitted designs must be original and previously unpublished and must not infringe the copyrights or other rights of third parties.

Entries containing offensive, unlawful, politically or religiously promotional, culturally or socially insensitive, commercial or otherwise inappropriate content will be disqualified.

The organisers have also made clear that generative AI cannot be used to create the logo designs.

The competition offers participants an opportunity to contribute directly to the visual identity of a landmark year in Japan-Pakistan relations as the two countries prepare to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic ties in 2027.
