RIYADH: Saudi aid agency, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), has signed a cooperation agreement with the Saudi Centre for Culture and Heritage to establish and operate Riyadh School Al-Namudhajiyah in Deir Al-Balah in the Gaza Strip.

The agreement was signed via videoconference by KSrelief Assistant Supervisor General for Operations and Programs Eng. Ahmed Al-Baiz and Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage Chairman Dr Essam Abu Khalil, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Monday.

The project aims to help restore basic education for children affected by the war in Gaza by establishing an equipped school for 720 boys and girls from Grades 1 to 6. The school will operate in two daily shifts to accommodate prevailing conditions in the Strip.

The initiative includes furnishing the school and developing its operational and technical infrastructure, including classrooms, educational materials, water and sanitation facilities, solar power, internet, ventilation, and surveillance systems. Renovation work will also be carried out as part of the project.

The agreement forms part of KSrelief’s efforts to support education in crisis-affected areas and provide children in Gaza with a safe and sustainable learning environment.
