RIYADH: Saudi air defences intercepted and destroyed three ballistic missiles launched towards Khamis Mushayt in the Asir region, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported early Saturday, quoting Major General Turki Al-Maliki, spokesman for the Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen.
Al-Maliki said coalition forces intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles targeting Khamis Mushayt before bringing down a third at around 3 am. Four Houthi drones were also intercepted, he added.

Separately, falling debris from an intercepted ballistic missile injured an Asian expatriate in Ahad Rafidah Governorate on Friday, 2 October, the General Directorate of Civil Defence said.
The debris also damaged a prayer room inside a building and several civilian vehicles. Civil Defence teams responded to the incident and immediately implemented approved emergency procedures, the directorate said.

“The falling shrapnel injured an expatriate resident of Asian nationality and caused material damage to a prayer room inside a building, as well as to several civilian vehicles,” the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported, quoting a statement by the General Directorate of Civil Defence.
In a separate incident, a Houthi projectile struck a school in Najran on Friday, causing material damage but no casualties, according to Saudi Civil Defence.
On Thursday, spokesperson for the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, Major General Turki Al-Malki, said that a terrorist attack targeted the Taibah electricity distribution station in Madinah at 5:11 am on September 29, 2026.
The spokesperson said an investigation by the competent authorities, supported by evidence including the wreckage of the drone used in the attack and an after-action review, confirmed the involvement of the Houthi militia in planning and carrying out the attack, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The attack caused one power transformer to be taken out of service but did not affect the wider electricity network.
The coalition said the attack targeted a civilian facility supplying electricity to the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah and described it as part of the militia’s attempts to target the Two Holy Mosques and provoke Muslims worldwide.
The Coalition continues to take and implement measures to deter the Terrorist Houthi Militia, ensuring the protection of the Two Holy Mosques and the safety of the pilgrims in Makkah and Madinah.
Pakistan on Friday strongly condemned the attack.
“This reprehensible attack against civilian infrastructure supplying electricity to the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) Mosque is a grave provocation and a matter of deep concern and anguish for millions of Muslims worldwide,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.
The Muslim World League (MWL) on Friday condemned the attempted drone attack, saying the incident was part of continued aggression against Saudi Arabia.
MWL Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organisation of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr Mohammed Al-Issa denounced what he described as the Houthi militia’s “terrorist approach” and its attacks on holy sites and civilian infrastructure.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Sheikh Al-Issa said such attacks represented a flagrant violation of Islamic values and basic humanitarian principles.
