PESHAWAR: The Excise Police Mardan Region and the Motorway Police on Monday foiled an attempt to smuggle 40 kilograms of hashish and 12 kilograms of opium during an operation.
The contraband was Region and the Motorway Police. On a tip-off, the Excise Police Mardan Region flagged down potential suspect vehicles at the Charsada Interchange; nevertheless, the accused driver accelerated and drove onto the highway instead of stopping.
Woman arrested in drug smuggling case
The Excise Police and Motorway Police followed the vehicle, but due to over-speeding, the vehicle went out of control and skidded from the motorway. Ajab Gul, the accused driver got escaped while his wife, who was also accompanying him in the car, was arrested.
Afterward, the Excise Police thoroughly searched the vehicle and recovered 52 kilograms of narcotics from the vehicle. Drug smuggling charges have been filed against the suspect by the Excise Police and the Motorway Police, and more raids were conducted at his different places in an effort to apprehend him.
