ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Tuesday welcomed the United States’ decision to lift all sanctions against Syria, describing the move as a positive step towards the country’s economic recovery, prosperity and lasting regional stability.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar welcomed the decision in a statement on X, reaffirming Pakistan’s steadfast support for Syria’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

“Pakistan welcomes the decision by the United States to lift all sanctions against the Syrian Arab Republic,” Dar said.
He said the removal of sanctions would provide an important opportunity for Syria to rebuild its economy after years of conflict and economic difficulties.
“This positive decision will not only help the Syrian economy towards recovery and growth but also contribute to regional peace and stability,” the deputy prime minister said.
Pakistan Reaffirms Strong Support for Syria
Dar reiterated Islamabad’s principled support for Syria and expressed Pakistan’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with the country as it moves towards economic recovery and greater stability.
“Pakistan reiterates its steadfast support for sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Syria and stands ready to further expand its bilateral cooperation with the brotherly country for lasting peace and prosperity,” he said.
