LISBON, Portugal: Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has upgraded his new wife Georgina Rodriguez’s status by making her the legal mother of his three eldest children, with Portuguese media claiming she has adopted them just days after the couple’s wedding.
Ronaldo, 41, and Rodriguez, 32, married in an intimate ceremony at their new £30 million mansion near Lisbon on Tuesday, with their children and four witnesses in attendance.
The footballer confirmed the marriage on Instagram by sharing an image showing two hands wearing wedding rings, believed to be his and Rodriguez’s. The post attracted more than three million likes within 30 minutes.

According to reports in the Portuguese media, Rodriguez is now the legal guardian of Ronaldo Jr and twins Eva María and Mateo. The reports claim the adoption process was conducted privately.
The development comes amid reports that members of Ronaldo’s family were not invited to the ceremony and were informed about the wedding only shortly before it took place.
Ronaldo and Georgina have been together for nearly a decade
The couple has been together for nearly a decade after meeting at a Gucci store in Madrid, where Rodriguez was working while football superstar played for Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Ronaldo and Georgina welcomed their first daughter, Alana, in 2017 and later had another daughter, Bella Esmeralda. Bella’s twin brother died during childbirth in 2022.
The couple could reportedly hold a second celebration with family and friends at a later date.
Football icon begins new chapter
Potugese superstar, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, is widely regarded as one of football’s greatest players. His career has included spells with Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.
