CASCAIS: Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner, model and influencer Georgina Rodriguez, in a civil ceremony in Portugal.
The couple tied the knot on Tuesday, August 11, in the coastal town of Cascais, near Lisbon, in a ceremony Portuguese media described as the “wedding of the year”.
Ronaldo confirmed the marriage on Instagram by sharing an image showing two hands wearing wedding rings, believed to be his and Rodriguez’s. The post attracted more than three million likes within 30 minutes.

The couple have been together for nearly a decade after meeting at a Gucci store in Madrid, where Rodriguez was working while Ronaldo played for Spanish giants Real Madrid.

They announced their engagement on August 11, 2025, when Rodriguez shared a photograph of a large diamond ring on social media, writing in Spanish: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”
Football icon begins new chapter
Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, is widely regarded as one of football’s greatest players. His career has included spells with Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.
The Portugal captain also recently featured at his sixth FIFA World Cup, matching Argentina’s Lionel Messi for the most appearances at the men’s tournament.
The marriage marks a new chapter for Ronaldo and Rodriguez after years together raising their family and making public appearances around the world.
