ISLAMABAD: In a spectacular display of national pride that spanned time zones and continents, Pakistani diplomatic missions across the globe transformed into vibrant bastions of patriotism on Friday, as the nation’s 79th Independence Day celebrations resonated from Asia to Europe, Africa to the Pacific.
Flag-hoisting ceremonies, led by Pakistan’s envoys, commenced the day’s proceedings with solemn dignity, as the green and white standard unfurled to the stirring notes of the national anthem.
The gatherings, attended by members of the Pakistani diaspora, host country officials, foreign diplomats, media representatives, and embassy staff with their families, paid heartfelt homage to the sacrifices of the nation’s founding fathers and the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – Ambassador Shafqat Ali Khan led the flag-hoisting ceremony in Abu Dhabi, urging the 2.2 million-strong Pakistani community to continue their constructive role in Pakistan’s progress.
