ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday expressed satisfaction over the productive deliberations of the ninth session of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission, reaffirming both nations’ commitment to transforming bilateral dialogue into tangible economic and strategic outcomes.
Prime Minister was speaking during a meeting with Belarusian Minister for Energy Dzenis Maroz, who called on him in Islamabad following the commission’s proceedings. The Belarusian minister briefed Shehbaz Sharif on the substantive progress made during the session, which covered the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation.

Broad-ranging talks cover trade, energy, agriculture, and banking
During the Joint Ministerial Commission, the two sides reviewed bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, industry, agriculture, banking, labour, transport, and energy. Both sides expressed confidence that the outcomes of the commission will translate into tangible benefits for both countries and further consolidate the growing partnership between Pakistan and Belarus.

The discussions underscored a shared vision for expanding economic linkages and creating new opportunities for businesses and investors from both nations.

Leaders reaffirm commitment to strengthen ties
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further deepening bilateral coordination to materialize cooperation across all sectors agreed upon by the leadership of the two countries. The talks reflected a mutual desire to build on the momentum generated by recent high-level exchanges between Islamabad and Minsk.

While welcoming the Belarusian minister and his delegation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his warm greetings and good wishes to President Alexander Lukashenko.
He fondly recalled President Lukashenko’s visit to Islamabad in November 2024, as well as his own visit to Belarus in April 2025, which significantly strengthened bilateral ties across all spheres of shared interest.
