ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday chaired the sixth meeting of the High-Level Committee to review the final phase of preparations for the 9th Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ministerial Conference on Women, which Pakistan will host on July 12-13.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), the meeting focused on reviewing the draft programme, conference agenda, protocol, security and logistical arrangements, media and communication strategy, inter-ministerial coordination, and other organisational matters to ensure the event is conducted smoothly.

The committee also discussed measures to ensure the “seamless conduct and successful hosting” of the conference, which is expected to bring together representatives from the OIC’s 57 member states to strengthen cooperation on women’s empowerment, inclusion and sustainable development.
Dar expressed satisfaction with the progress made by the Ministry of Human Rights and directed all relevant stakeholders to maintain close coordination and ensure the timely completion of the remaining arrangements ahead of the conference.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Human Rights Azam Nazeer Tarar, Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications Shaza Fatima, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch, Secretary Human Rights Abdul Khaliq Shaikh, and other senior officials.
Pakistan is scheduled to host the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women in Islamabad on July 12-13, 2026, bringing together delegates from across the Islamic world to advance cooperation on issues relating to women’s empowerment, inclusion and sustainable development.
