BRISTOL, England: Pakistan signed off from the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 with their heads held high, securing their first and only victory of the campaign with a commanding 37-run triumph over the Netherlands at the County Ground on Saturday.

While the tournament ended in disappointment for the Green Shirts, this morale-boosting win provided a glimpse of the team’s potential and offered a fitting farewell to the global stage.

Feroza’s Grit and Ayesha’s all-round brilliance seal the deal

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Pakistan posted a competitive 126/6 in their allotted 20 overs, anchored by opener Feroza’s unbeaten 63 off 52 deliveries—a knock studded with nine boundaries that earned her the Player of the Match award.

Despite a shaky start that saw left-handed opener Muneeba Ali depart for 12 in the fourth over, Ayesha Zafar joined Feroza in the middle and the duo resurrected the innings with a sensible 79-run second-wicket partnership.

Ayesha contributed a fluent 32 off 29 balls, featuring two fours and a six, before falling to Silver Siegers in the 14th over.

Captain Fatima Sana promoted herself to No. 4 but managed just three runs before falling to Iris Zwilling, while Eyman Fatima, Iram Javed and Saira Jabeen failed to make significant contributions. Zwilling was the pick of the Dutch bowlers with figures of 2/19 in her four overs.

Pakistan’s bowlers dominate to restrict Netherlands

Chasing 127 for victory, the Netherlands batting lineup crumbled under pressure, managing only 89 runs before being bowled out in 18 overs.

Captain Babette de Leede fought a lone battle with a cautious 30 off 41 deliveries, while opener Heather Siegers made a brisk 16-ball 24, the only other Dutch batter to reach double figures.

Ayesha Zafar, already impactful with the bat, completed a stellar all-round performance by claiming three wickets, while captain Fatima Sana equally led the bowling charge with three scalps of her own.

Nashra Sandhu and Diana Baig chipped in with one wicket each to complete the comprehensive victory.
