ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Turkiye have agreed to continue working closely to promote peace in the region through dialogue, stability, and de-escalation.
This understanding was reached during a telephone call between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday, said a statement issued by the PM House’s median wing.
“They also exchanged views on the ongoing regional peace efforts. The Prime Minister thanked President Erdogan for Turkiye’s strong and consistent support for the Pakistan-led peace initiative,” it said.

During their call, the Prime Minister conveyed Eid ul Adha greetings to the Turkish leadership and brotherly Turkish people, which were warmly reciprocated by President Erdogan.
“While recalling their frequent engagements, including their most recent meeting in Antalya, last April, the two leaders reaffirmed that the historic and time-tested fraternal bonds between Turkiye and Pakistan have been strengthened even further,” it said.
Both leaders agreed to expedite the implementation of key decisions taken during their recent high-level meetings, with particular emphasis on strengthening cooperation in trade and investment.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his deep condolences over the tragic train bombing in Balochistan on 24 May, reaffirming Turkiye’s solidarity with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism.
The Prime Minister thanked the Turkish President for his message of support and sympathy, reiterating that Pakistan remains committed to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
