MAKKAH: Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah visited the Hajj Operations Center (Command and Control) at the Public Security Directorate on Monday as part of ongoing field follow-up of operational preparations for the 2026 Hajj season.

During the visit, the minister reviewed the progress of operational activities, as well as field coordination and monitoring mechanisms, reinforcing integration among relevant entities and supporting the efficiency of operations management throughout the season to serve pilgrims.

He also visited the performance efficiency enhancement centers at the holy sites operated by Kidana Development Company, the executive arm of the Royal Commission for Makkah City and Holy Sites.

During the visit, the minister reviewed operational efforts and technological solutions aimed at strengthening readiness, improving operational efficiency, and accelerating response times, contributing to enhancing the quality of services provided to pilgrims at the holy sites.

On Monday, more than 1.5 million pilgrims descended on the tent city of Mina, the Day of Tarwiyah, marking the beginning of the annual pilgrimage of Hajj.

Chanting “Labbaik Allahumma Labbaik” (“Here I am, O God, here I am answering your call”), pilgrims, who came from all around the world, began flocking to Mina in the state of Ihram, since the early hours of Monday.
