ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (MET) has forecast dry and cold weather in most plain areas of the country.
However, light rain is expected at a few places in Kashmir, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Dry weather leads to pollution
The air quality in Lahore is 169 US AQI; in Bahawalpur, it is 159, 109 in Muridke, 189 in Faisalabad, and 121 in Rawalpindi. In Sindh, the air quality in Karachi is 153 US AQI 136 in Mirpur Khas, while Islamabad’s air quality stands at 135. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the air quality in Peshawar is 114, while 130 in Abbottabad.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (MET), a maximum of 6 degrees Celsius (°C) temperature was recorded in Islamabad, 12°C in Lahore, 15°C in Karachi, 8°C in Peshawar, -5°C in Quetta, and 3°C in Gilgit.

Today’s recorded minimum temperatures (°C): Leh -13, Ziarat -11, Kalat, Gupis -08, Astore, Kalam -07, Hunza -06, Malam Jabba, Skardu -05, Bagrote, Murree, Quetta, Zhob -04, Dalbandin and Parachinar -03.
