ISLAMABAD: Pakistani pace sensation Ali Raza became the youngest to claim a hat-trick in Pakistan Super League history on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old achieved the feat during Peshawar Zalmi’s clash against Karachi Kings on Wednesday at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, producing a breathtaking spell that included four wickets in the space of three legal deliveries.
The teenage seamer, clocking speeds of 149.1kmph, triggered a spectacular late-order collapse that left the Kings shell-shocked and secured a famous victory for Zalmi.

Karachi’s collapse in numbers
Batting first, Karachi were cruising at 161 for 3 in 17.4 overs, thanks to opener Jason Roy’s blistering 85 off 51 balls. But the final 14 balls of the innings turned into a nightmare. The Kings managed just 21 runs while losing six wickets — a meltdown that saw them slump to 182 for 9.
The collapse began when Azam Khan (19-ball 35) fell to Iftikhar Ahmed, with Roy following soon after. But the real damage came in the final over.

The over that broke Karachi
The fourth ball of the last over, bowled by Raza, was called a wide, giving him three more legal deliveries. That same ball saw Abbas Afridi run out after his partner Khushdil Shah was caught ball-watching.
Next up, Khushdil suffered a freak dismissal: hit wicket, dragging his back foot onto the stumps while attempting to drive a yorker.
The penultimate delivery was another yorker, crashing into Shahid Aziz’s middle stump. Raza had two in two.
Then came the moment of history. The final ball — a full toss at 149.1kmph — shattered Hasan Ali’s stumps. Hat-trick complete.
Youngest hat-trick hero in PSL history
Raza became just the seventh bowler in PSL history to claim a hat-trick — and the youngest ever to achieve the feat. He finished with figures of 4 for 41 from his four overs.
