JEDDAH: The Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Makkah Region has finalised preparations to ensure the provision of optimal environmental, water, agricultural, and health services to pilgrims.
These efforts form part of an integrated plan aimed at maintaining sustainability, safeguarding public health, and ensuring a safe and comfortable experience throughout the Hajj season.
During a recent meeting, officials stressed the importance of strengthening the role of the National Centre for Environmental Compliance (NCEC), in coordination with the Weqaa Center, to enhance the efficiency of environmental monitoring and ensure a healthy, safe environment for pilgrims, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday.
The discussions also highlighted ongoing coordination with the Ministry of Interior, represented by the General Directorate of Mujahideen, to reinforce regulatory oversight of markets and private slaughterhouses.
Additional measures include providing security support for veterinary teams as they carry out field inspections and services, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and protecting both workers and the public.
These efforts underscore the ministry’s commitment to enhancing services during Hajj through stronger institutional coordination, greater efficiency, and improved service delivery, in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and its goals of ensuring a safe and well-organised Hajj.
