HEC Pakistan Pledges Stronger Academic Ties with Oman to Boost Research and Student Exchange

Both Sides Agree to Develop Roadmap for Future Engagements

ISLAMABAD: Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has vowed to strengthen institutional linkages and collaboration between Pakistani and Omani universities, aiming to create a robust framework for academic and research partnerships between the two nations.

The commitment came during a meeting between HEC Executive Director Dr. Zia Ul Haq and Consul General of Oman, Engr. Sami Abdullah Al-Khanjari, held at the Consulate General of the Sultanate of Oman in Karachi. The HEC delegation also included Advisor (Research and Innovation Division) Dr. Muhammad Ali Nasir, HEC Commission Member Dr. Aurangzeb Khan, and the Vice Chancellor of Dewan University Karachi.

During the session, Dr. Zia Ul Haq reaffirmed HEC’s commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation with Oman, stating that the HEC would provide comprehensive support to accelerate joint ventures. He highlighted the deep-rooted brotherly relations between the two countries as a strong foundation for academic excellence.

Engr. Sami Abdullah Al-Khanjari appreciated HEC’s proactive role in promoting higher education and expressed Oman’s keen interest in turning these discussions into tangible partnerships that benefit the youth and academic communities of both nations.

The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement to develop a concrete roadmap for future engagements, ensuring that the opportunities discussed lead to real academic milestones.
