WASHINGTON: The US on Wednesday called Russian minister for foreign affairs Sergei Lavrov’s remarks comparing the US’s assembly of an alliance to take on Moscow to Adolf Hitler’s acts to eliminate Jews in the West “truly offensive.”

This was stated by White House spokesperson John Kirby while talking to media persons. John Kirby said that it is almost so strange that it is not worth responding to, other than the truly offensive manner in which the Russian minister tried to cast us in terms of “Adolf Hitler and the Holocaust”.

Earlier, Russian Minister for foreign affairs Sergei Lavrov said,” just as Napoleon mobilized all of Europe against Moscow, just as Hitler mobilized the majority of European states against the Soviet Union, now Washington has organized a coalition,” Russian media reported.
