LAHORE: An unbeaten century by Sahibzada Farhan guided Multan Sultans to a six-wicket victory over Hyderabad Kingsmen in a high-scoring Pakistan Super League (PSL) 11 match at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.
Chasing a daunting target of 226, the 2021 champions reached 229 for four with eight balls to spare, completing one of the highest successful run chases of the season.

Farhan anchors record chase
Farhan led the chase with composure and aggression.
The right-handed opener remained unbeaten on 106 off 57 balls.
His innings included eight sixes and seven fours.
He laid the foundation with a brisk opening stand alongside Steve Smith, who scored 46.
Vice-captain Shan Masood added 29 to maintain momentum.
Farhan then sealed the victory with an unbroken 37-run partnership with Arafat Minhas, who contributed a quickfire 26 off 11 deliveries.
For Kingsmen, Saim Ayub was the most effective bowler, taking two wickets for 43 runs.
Maheesh Theekshana and Hassan Khan picked up one wicket each.
Kingsmen post imposing total
Earlier, Kingsmen posted a formidable 225 for five after being put in to bat by captain Marnus Labuschagne.
Openers Saim Ayub and Maaz provided a flying start, adding 59 runs in the first five overs.
Ayub scored 27 off 20 balls before being dismissed by Peter Siddle.
Maaz continued the charge and emerged as the top-scorer with 62 off 26 balls, striking five sixes and five fours.
He shared useful stands with Labuschagne and wicketkeeper Usman Khan before falling in the 10th over.
Usman Khan departed shortly after for a quick cameo, leaving Kingsmen at 127 for four in 11.2 overs.
Sharjeel boosts late surge
Experienced Sharjeel Khan then anchored the latter half of the innings with an unbeaten 51 off 26 deliveries, including four sixes and three fours.
He stitched valuable partnerships with Syed Saad Ali (23) and Muhammad Irfan Khan (22 not out) to push the total beyond 220.
For Sultans, Mohammad Wasim Jr was the standout bowler with figures of two for 37.
Mohammad Nawaz, Siddle and captain Ashton Turner claimed one wicket each.
