ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Armed Forces continue their robust operations against the Afghan Taliban and Fitnah al-Khawarij under the ongoing Operation Ghazab Lil Haq.
Fitna al-Khawarij is a term used by the state to refer to the terrorist groups—particularly factions of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)—that carry out attacks inside Pakistan.
Pakistan Army carried out precise strikes on multiple Taliban posts along the Pak-Afghan border, according to security sources.

In the Thal sector, key Afghan Taliban positions were targeted and destroyed, severely disrupting their operational capabilities. Similarly, in the Zhob sector, an Afghan Taliban post was neutralised, forcing terrorists to abandon their positions.

The operation began last month following renewed clashes along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, where Afghan Taliban forces opened fire on multiple Pakistani positions, prompting a swift military response from Islamabad.
Since then, clashes between the two neighbouring countries have intensified, marking one of the most serious escalations along the border in recent years.
Security officials confirmed that the combined pressure from Pakistan Army operations has compelled the Afghan Taliban and Fitnah al-Khawarij to retreat, limiting their ability to carry out cross-border attacks.
Authorities emphasised that Pakistan remains committed to safeguarding its borders, ensuring regional stability, and continuing counter terrorism operations to neutralise threats emanating from across the frontier.
The operation also underscores the Pakistan Army’s focus on intelligence-driven and precise military action to secure vulnerable border areas.
Islamabad has long held the Afghan Taliban regime responsible for allowing TTP leadership and terrorists to operate from Afghan soil; however, Kabul has repeatedly failed to stop them.
The tensions between the two countries also disrupted economic ties, as border crossings were closed and bilateral trade was suspended in October 2025.
Security analysts warn that the ongoing conflict could further destabilise the volatile border region if cross-border attacks from Afghanistan continue and diplomatic efforts fail to ease tensions between the two neighbouring countries.
