Saudi Cabinet Meets, Crown Prince Approves Key Deals

Saudi Arabia strengthens international cooperation and domestic initiatives across sectors

JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman, chaired the Cabinet session in Jeddah on Tuesday, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The Crown Prince briefed ministers on the outcomes of his recent meeting with Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of Egypt, highlighting efforts to further strengthen longstanding bilateral ties across various sectors.

The discussions also covered regional developments, matters affecting the Islamic world, Middle East affairs, and initiatives to enhance security and stability in the region.

The Crown Prince also relayed a message from Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan.

Following the session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary told the Saudi Press Agency that the Cabinet reviewed the regional and global situation, reaffirming Saudi Arabia’s commitment to promoting peace, security, development, and prosperity both domestically and internationally.

The Cabinet also discussed updates from joint committees with friendly and brotherly nations, highlighting progress in bilateral and multilateral initiatives.

Domestically, ministers reviewed national programs promoting public participation, solidarity, and charitable activities, emphasizing their humanitarian and developmental impact across the Kingdom.

Key decisions approved  during the session included:

  • Authorizing the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) to sign a cooperation agreement with Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Digital Development.
  • Allowing the Minister of Interior, or a deputy, to negotiate and sign a draft MoU with Pakistan on scientific, training, and research collaboration.
  • Approving a memorandum on political consultations between Saudi and Armenian foreign ministries.
  • Authorizing the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, or a deputy, to sign a draft MoU with Turkmenistan on environmental protection.
  • Allowing the Minister of Health, or a deputy, to discuss and sign draft MoUs with Pakistan and the Netherlands on health sector cooperation.
  • Approving an MoU with Estonia to promote direct investment.
  • Ratifying air transport agreements with Kiribati and Cuba.
  • Approving an MoU between the Saudi General Authority for Awqaf and Oman’s Ministry of Endowments on endowment management.
  • Endorsing a framework for international cooperation in space exploration and peaceful uses of outer space, authorizing the relevant ministers and Saudi Space Agency officials to negotiate agreements with foreign counterparts.

The Cabinet also addressed additional agenda items, reflecting the Kingdom’s continued focus on strengthening international partnerships and domestic development initiatives.
