DOHA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited Qatari businessmen to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan, particularly in infrastructure, logistics, energy, agriculture, technology, and export-oriented manufacturing sectors.
The Prime Minister extended the invitation while speaking to a delegation of the Qatar Businessmen Association (QBA), led by its Chairman Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, in Doha on Tuesday, state-run radio Pakistan reported.
Welcoming the delegation, the Prime Minister appreciated the QBA’s constructive role in strengthening economic and commercial linkages between Pakistan and Qatar. He underscored that Pakistan attaches high importance to private-sector-led engagement as a key pillar of the bilateral partnership.

Shehbaz Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s improving macroeconomic indicators and the reform measures introduced to facilitate foreign investment. He emphasizsd the role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) as a one-window platform ensuring transparency, efficiency, and timely decision-making for prospective investors.
In response, Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani expressed keen interest in enhancing business-to-business cooperation and exploring investment opportunities across various sectors in Pakistan.
Both sides agreed to maintain close engagement to translate discussions into concrete economic partnerships. This includes the upcoming visit of the taskforce on Pak-Qatar investment to Doha later this month, as well as the hosting of business forums to facilitate direct interaction between business communities.
The two sides also resolved to undertake special efforts to foster linkages between businesses and entrepreneurs of both countries, aiming to significantly enhance business-to-business relations.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of Pakistan and Qatar to further expand trade and investment ties through strengthened collaboration between their respective private sectors.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Doha late Monday for a two-day official visit at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

During his visit, PM Sharif will hold bilateral talks with the Qatari leadership to boost economic cooperation, energy partnerships, trade, investment, infrastructure projects, and manpower exports.
Qatar hosts a significant Pakistani community of over 200,000, contributing to economic and social development in both countries.
Energy and trade remain key pillars of bilateral relations, with Qatar supplying roughly 3.5 million tons of LNG annually to Pakistan under long-term agreements. Bilateral trade stands at about $2 billion, with Pakistan exporting rice and meat, and importing petroleum and chemical products.
