SHAKA, Bangladesh: Supporters of rival parties Jamaat-e-Islami and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) line the streets of Dhaka for rival rallies, as Bangladesh’s election campaign comes to an end. The elections are the first since a 2024 uprising that ended the autocratic rule of Sheikh Hasina. “We are finally in a situation where we can hope for something better where we all can work together to make this country better,” says one BNP supporter.
