ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s federal government on Saturday increased the price of high-speed diesel by Rs11.30 per litre while keeping petrol prices unchanged for the next 15 days, according to an official notification.
The revised fuel prices will take effect from February 1 and remain in force for a fortnight, the Petroleum Division said in a press release.
Under the new rates, the price of high-speed diesel has been raised to Rs268.38 per litre. Petrol will continue to sell at Rs253.17 per litre, the notification said.

Diesel is widely used in transport, agriculture and power generation, and price changes often have a broad impact on inflation and business costs across the country.
LPG prices also increased
Separately, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) announced an increase in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices, also effective from February 1.
In a notification issued on Saturday, OGRA said the price of LPG had been raised by Rs6.37 per kilogram, setting the new domestic price at Rs75.21 per kilogram.
OGRA attributed the increase to higher global LPG prices and rising import costs. The regulator said the price hike was likely to affect households, particularly those that rely on LPG for cooking and other domestic needs.
It urged consumers to consider alternative energy sources where possible to help manage household expenses amid rising energy costs.
Pakistan reviews petroleum prices every two weeks in line with movements in international oil markets and exchange rate fluctuations.
