ISLAMABAD: Dutch semiconductor equipment maker ASML reported strong 2025 results, with robust profitability and elevated orders fuelled by rising global demand for AI‑related chipmaking tools, positioning the company for further growth in 2026.

The company achieved total net sales of €32.7 billion in 2025, with a net profit of €9.6 billion. Quarterly net bookings climbed to €13.2 billion, reflecting strong customer investment in advanced lithography systems.

ASML also raised its sales guidance for 2026 to a range of €34 billion to €39 billion, signalling confidence in continued demand growth.

According to international media reporting, the company’s strong performance was driven by AI‑focused investments from major chipmakers, highlighting ASML’s critical role in the global semiconductor supply chain. Analysts said the robust bookings and raised outlook underscore structural growth opportunities as AI continues to drive chip production worldwide.

Despite the strong results, ASML announced plans to cut approximately 1,700 jobs as part of a strategic restructuring aimed at improving efficiency and focusing on core innovation. The company also unveiled a share buyback programme of up to €12 billion and increased its dividend, reinforcing shareholder returns amid strong growth prospects.

Advanced Semiconductor Materials Lithography (ASML) is a Dutch multinational technology company that is a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The company develops and produces advanced lithography machines that are essential for fabricating modern microchips.

Its customers include top semiconductor manufacturers like TSMC, Intel, and Samsung. ASML’s cutting-edge technology, particularly in extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography, makes it a critical player in the global electronics and AI supply chain.

Lithography is a core process in semiconductor manufacturing used to etch microscopic circuits onto silicon wafers, forming the intricate patterns that define microchips.

Advanced lithography machines, such as those produced by ASML, use ultraviolet light to transfer circuit designs with nanometer precision. This is a vital technology for producing high-performance chips for applications in AI, data centres, smartphones, and other modern electronics.
