ISLAMABAD/ MUZAFFARABAD: Snowfall and rain continued in upper regions of Pakistan’s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), badly affecting the routine life and businesses.
In AJK’s Poonch division, intermittent snowfall and rain continued in all four districts, causing inconvenience to the residents.
Citizens also faced difficulties in the upper areas of the Rawalakot district in AJK as snowfall and rain caused the blockade of roads at several locations.
Police, rescue and other departments concerned were put on high alert to deal with emergencies.
The AJK government advised tourists to avoid unnecessary travel.
In Haveli Kahutta in AJK, intermittent snowfall and rain continued, further intensifying the cold.
Many roads and highways in the district were closed due to the snowfall.
In K-P’s Shangla district, snowfall and rain brought routine life to a standstill as roads and streets remained closed.
The power supply system was disrupted in several places in the Shangla district due to the heavy snowfall and rain.
Locals were confined to their houses due to the severe cold while traffic flow was also affected due to the snowfall.
Several link roads in various places of Shangla were also closed following the snowfall and rain.
