LOS ANGELES: Brad Pitt is facing fresh legal challenges as the actor battles a copyright lawsuit over his skincare brand, Beau Domaine, while continuing his long-running court fight with ex-wife Angelina Jolie over their shared winery business.

Pitt, 62, is accused of copyright infringement by skincare competitor Brandon Palas, founder of the men’s wellness brand Beau D.

Palas claims that Pitt’s brand copied his company’s name, logo, design, and web presence.

According to RadarOnline, Palas’s company was established in 2020, two years before Pitt launched Le Domaine, later renamed Beau Domaine.

“Beau Domaine has a nearly identical name, typography, design aesthetic, and web presence that closely mirror our protected trademark,” Palas said.

Attempts to reach a settlement failed, prompting him to file a formal lawsuit seeking $75,000 in damages.

Palas told RadarOnline: “Our priority is protecting the integrity of Beau D. and ensuring that customers are not misled. We strongly believe in originality and protecting what makes Beau D. unique.”

Pitt’s legal dispute with Angelina Jolie

The lawsuit adds to Pitt’s legal pressures stemming from his ongoing dispute with Jolie over Château Miraval, the French winery they co-owned.

Pitt first filed a lawsuit in 2022, alleging that Jolie sold her stake to a Russian businessman in 2021 without his consent, violating an alleged agreement that neither would sell shares without the other’s approval.

Jolie denied the agreement and filed a countersuit, accusing Pitt of a “vindictive war” against her.

Court documents, cited by PEOPLE magazine, show that a Los Angeles Superior Court judge recently ordered Jolie, 50, to produce unredacted communications relating to the winery within 45 days.

The ruling followed Pitt’s motion to compel discovery. Pitt’s legal team believes the emails could demonstrate that Jolie misrepresented her intentions regarding the sale of her share.

Paul Murphy, Jolie’s lawyer, said in a statement: “We’re disappointed by the court’s interpretation of California’s privilege law. The court’s ruling violates that law, undermines Ms. Jolie’s fundamental right to a fair trial, and represents yet another manifestation of Mr. Pitt’s years-long effort to harass and control her. We will appeal.”

The legal wrangling over Miraval continues despite Pitt and Jolie finalising their divorce in December 2024, nearly eight years after Jolie first filed in 2016.

The couple shares six children: Maddox, 24; Pax, 22; Zahara, 20; Shiloh, 19; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17.

The actor-producer’s legal entanglements now span both intellectual property and business disputes, adding to ongoing public scrutiny of his personal and professional affairs.
