ISLAMABAD: The domestic gold market saw a mild correction on Wednesday, and 24-karat gold fell to Rs 443,162 per tola, down Rs 1,000 from the previous session, according to data shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

The price for 10-gram gold likewise dropped to Rs 379,939, a decrease of Rs 858 in a single day, according to the Association, as reported.

Meanwhile, silver gained modestly, with the per-tola rate climbing to Rs 6,085 — an increase of Rs 81, offering a rare bright spot amid gold’s dip.

Global market pressures, a firmer US dollar, and cautious investor demand weighed on gold’s appeal. International bullion rates dipped, prompting domestic jewellers and bullion dealers to adjust local prices accordingly.

Industry watchers noted that this has cooled demand slightly among retail buyers and investors alike, according to Mettis Global News.

Analysts say today’s correction reflects a broader recalibration in global precious-metals markets, as investors turn cautious ahead of key US economic data and continue to monitor currency trends.

For many in Pakistan, slightly lower gold prices may offer a window for purchases, though volatility remains a feature of the near-term outlook.
