RIYADH: The dialysis centre in Al-Ghaydah district of Al-Mahra governorate in Yemen, supported by the Saudi aid agency, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), continues to provide essential medical services.

Over the past month, the centre treated 132 patients, with 55 undergoing 389 scheduled dialysis sessions and nine emergency sessions, according to a report by the Saudi Press Agency.

A further 75 patients received consultations and medical examinations at the kidney disease clinic, the SPA added.

In Aden governorate, KSrelief is running a voluntary medical campaign for cardiac surgery and catheterisation from 21–28 November, in cooperation with the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Programme for Yemen.

During the campaign, the volunteer team has so far carried out 10 paediatric open-heart surgeries and 11 cardiac catheterisations.

KSrelief has also continued the distribution of dates across 10 directorates on the Hadramout coast, reaching more than 36,000 vulnerable individuals, including people with special needs, patients, displaced persons, widows, and low-income families.

Since its establishment in 2015, KSrelief has implemented 1,161 projects in Yemen at a total cost of around $4.7 billion, covering areas such as food security, early recovery, water, sanitation and hygiene, health, camp coordination, education, protection, emergency aid, and nutrition.
