Pakistan Strengthens Legal Ties at 2nd International Conference on Justice in Riyadh

RIYADH: Pakistan’s Minister for Law and Justice, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar has led the country’s delegation at the Second International Conference on Justice, held in Riyadh under the patronage of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The two-day event brought together ministers, jurists, and legal experts from over 40 countries to discuss judicial quality, digital transformation, and enhanced global cooperation in the justice sector.

During the conference, Senator Tarar held several high-level bilateral meetings aimed at strengthening Pakistan’s legal partnerships. A landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with Waleed Mohammed Alsmani, Minister of Justice of Saudi Arabia, to enhance cooperation in judicial training, legal reform, and technological advancement.

In addition, the Law Minister met with Dr. Amin Hossein Rahimi, Minister of Justice of Iran, to explore avenues for mutual legal collaboration and institutional linkages. Discussions with Yılmaz Tunç, Minister of Justice of Türkiye, focused on modernising judicial processes and capacity building, while meeting with Farid Ahmadov, Minister of Justice of Azerbaijan, centred on expanding bilateral legal frameworks, sharing best practices, and enhancing judicial education.

Tarar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to fostering international partnerships in the justice sector, highlighting that such engagements are key to improving access to justice, strengthening the rule of law, and aligning national reforms with global best practices.
