JOHANNESBURG: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan has said the Kingdom is committed to partnering with G20 countries to create an inclusive and sustainable economic environment, promoting cooperation and equal opportunities for shared prosperity.
He made the remarks at the the second day of the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa on Sunday.
The summit, themed “A Fair and Just Future for All: Critical Minerals, Decent Work, Artificial Intelligence,” convenes leaders from the world’s major economies to discuss global challenges and strengthen economic cooperation.
Prince Faisal said the Kingdom “believes that artificial intelligence is a key driver in accelerating innovation, improving resource efficiency and enhancing sustainability across various sectors,” according to the Saudi Press Agency.
He added: “This requires an approach based on dialogue, cooperation, collective action, respect for international law, consumer protection and intellectual property rights, ultimately leading to a fair and inclusive governance system.”
The foreign minister underscored the importance of ensuring fair access to essential resources and investment to drive economic growth, emphasising the need to balance development with environmental protection as the world moves toward a greener economy.
