LOS ANGELES: Jennifer Aniston has spoken publicly for the first time about her relationship with Jim Curtis, praising the hypnotherapist and life coach for his “kind” and “healing” approach to work and life.
The remarks came in an interview with Elle magazine published on Wednesday, in which Aniston was honoured as a 2025 Women in Hollywood recipient.
Aniston, 56, described Curtis, 50, as “very special, very normal, and very kind,” telling Elle that his dedication to helping others had impressed her.
“Hypnotism is one of the many things that he does,” she said. “He’s quite extraordinary, and helps many, many people. It’s a beautiful thing to commit your life to.”
First public comments
The actress confirmed the romance after going public on Instagram on November 2. In a black-and-white photograph she posted to celebrate Curtis’s 50th birthday, Aniston hugged him from behind and wrote: “Happy birthday my love. Cherished.”
Curtis later reposted images of the couple and replied on Instagram: “If this is a dream I don’t want to wake up. ❤️.”

The pair were first linked in July when they were photographed on a yacht in Mallorca. Since then they have been seen together at social events.
Curtis attended a red-carpet premiere for Aniston’s Apple TV+ series The Morning Show, and the couple have gone on double dates with friends including Courteney Cox and Jason Bateman, media outlets reported.
How they met and public reaction
People magazine reported that the couple were introduced by a friend and that Aniston initially knew Curtis through his writing and coaching work.
A source told People that Curtis has a “calm and secure energy” and that Aniston’s close friends approve of him. Social media responses to Aniston’s birthday post were effusive, with many fans posting messages of support.
Curtis, who works in the health and wellness sector, has for more than two decades offered coaching and hypnotherapy, according to material on his website and his social media presence.
He has posted advice about relationships and self-care online. In an Instagram question-and-answer session on October 29, Curtis encouraged people in their 40s to open themselves to love, saying: “First love yourself and recognize that you are the perfect age and that life is not over at 42.”
Career and private life
In the Elle interview Aniston also spoke about her work behind the camera. She said she had “worked really hard” and appreciated that women now have greater opportunities to produce projects that amplify female voices.
“We get s— done,” she told the magazine, referencing the industry’s historically male-dominated production culture and saying there was still progress to be made.
Aniston has previously been open about her fertility journey. She has spoken to outlets including Harper’s Bazaar and Allure about undergoing in vitro fertilisation and the emotional toll of that process.
In earlier interviews she said she had wanted biological children and described the experience as “very emotional.”
Measured public profile
Aniston has kept much of her personal life private in recent years. She was married to Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005 and to Justin Theroux from 2015 until their separation in 2018.
Media coverage of her new relationship has emphasised that friends and colleagues see it as a steadying influence. A source, cited by People magazine, said Curtis “feels different” from Aniston’s previous partners and has helped her “slow down” amid a busy career.
On Curtis, Aniston told Elle: “He’s very special, very normal, and very kind, and wants to help people heal, move through their trauma and stagnation into clarity.”
On producing, she said: “We get to create projects that are making a difference and bring in female voices — that’s a really wonderful thing that we get to do now that we’re allowed a seat at the table.”
