ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board’s National Selection Committee has announced an 18-player squad for the upcoming two-Test series against South Africa, inducting three uncapped players.
The series begins on 12 October. The squad will be reduced ahead of the opening Test.

Shan Masood will continue to captain the side, with three uncapped players – Asif Afridi, Faisal Akram, and Rohail Nazir – named in the squad.
South Africa, winners of the ICC World Test Championship 2023–25, will face Pakistan in the first Test at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium from 12 to 16 October. The second Test is scheduled for 20 to 24 October at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Pre-series training camp
Following the Tests, the two sides will compete in three T20 Internationals and three One Day Internationals between 28 October and 8 November. The squad for the limited-overs matches will be announced later.
Players selected for the pre-series training camp will work under red-ball head coach Azhar Mahmood and National Cricket Academy coaches starting today and continuing until Wednesday, 8 October. Those who participated in the recently concluded ACC Men’s T20 Asia Cup will join the camp on 4 October.
