 ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s rising star Saim Ayub has made a significant leap in the latest ICC T20I all-rounder rankings, climbing four places to join fifth spot in the updated list released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday.

The left-hander’s consistent performances with both bat and ball during the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 have earned him a career-best ranking. India’s Hardik Pandya continues to hold the top position among T20I all-rounders, maintaining his lead thanks to his consistent all-round contributions.

Pakistan also saw positive movement in the T20I bowlers’ rankings, where their spin duo, Sufiyan Muqeem and Abrar Ahmed, made notable strides. Muqeem, known for his sharp turn and control, jumped four spots to reach 11th position, while Abrar Ahmed, after a series of standout performances, leapt 11 places to claim the 16th spot, further bolstering Pakistan’s growing spin arsenal.

On the global front, India’s Varun Chakaravarthy has claimed the No.1 spot among T20I bowlers, overtaking New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy. Chakaravarthy’s recent exploits have seen him rise rapidly, capping off a remarkable week for Indian bowlers.

West Indies’ Akeal Hosein remains steady at third, while Australia’s Adam Zampa has climbed to fourth, following strong outings in recent matches.

Meanwhile, in the T20I batting rankings, India’s explosive left-hander Abhishek Sharma continues to lead the charts, achieving a career-high rating after his 31-run knock against Pakistan. But the competition is heating up.

England’s Phil Salt and Jos Buttler have each moved up a spot to second and third, respectively, keeping pressure on Sharma. South Africa’s Dewald Brevis jumped two spots to 11th, while Aiden Markram made a significant climb of ten places to settle at joint 30th.
