BEIJING:  Pakistan and China have agreed to launch new flight routes and expand current flights between the two countries.

This decision is part of the recently signed China-Pakistan Action Plan (2025–2029) in Beijing. According to the plan, civil aviation has been identified as a key area of cooperation within the broader framework of people-to-people exchanges.

According to the agreement, the two sides will strengthen civil aviation cooperation by supporting airlines.

The initiative is designed to facilitate easier travel for business communities, students, tourists, and professionals between the two countries.

The civil aviation cooperation is closely linked with other key areas of the action plan, including cultural exchanges, educational collaboration, tourism development, and trade facilitation.

Improved air connectivity is expected to support ongoing initiatives under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and broader regional integration efforts.

Officials from both countries emphasised that expanding direct flights will strengthen people-to-people ties, shorten travel times, and open up more opportunities for bilateral engagement across various sectors.
