ISLAMABAD:  Rain-winds and thundershowers are likely in Punjab, northeastern Balochistan, Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday, according to Pakistan Met Office.

It said that hot and very humid weather is likely elsewhere in the country.

The Met Office said that in Punjab, 35mm rain has been recorded in Layyah while 32 mm in Bahawalnagar during the last 24 hours.

Precautionary measures

In Balochistan, Zhob has received 24 mm rain and in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 22 mm has been recorded in Dir.

On Thursday, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Disaster Management Authority also issued an alert about heavy rains with gusty wind in most parts of the province from today till Monday.

The provincial authority has directed the concerned to take precautionary measures to avoid any human and material losses during the forecast period.

Tourists are also directed to refrain from visiting hilly areas of the province during the forecast period.
