Soldiers Martyred, Four Terrorists Killed During Forces Operation in Bannu

RAWALPINDI: A Pakistan Army soldier embraced martyrdom, and four terrorists were killed during security forces Intelligence Based Operation (IBO) in the Jani Khel area of Bannu district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release here on Saturday.

According to ISPR, on 31 December, Security Forces conducted an Intelligence Based Operation in the general area of Jani Khel, Bannu. During the conduct of the operation, an intense fire exchange took place between troops and terrorists. Troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, ISPR said.

ISPR said that during the intense fire exchange, four terrorists were killed. A cache of weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists, ISPR said.

The military media wing claimed that the killed terrorists remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and killing innocent citizens.

However, during the intense exchange of fire, Sepoy Muhammad Wasim (age 25 years, resident of Khairpur), having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat, ISPR said.

A clearance operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area, ISPR said.
