TABUK, Saudi Arabia: Saudi Arabia’s Tabuk region, known for its fertile soil and favourable climate, produces more than 750 tonnes of high-quality pears each year.

Every summer, farms in the area transform into a lush green landscape adorned with pear trees bearing what farmers call “fruits of gold.”

The favourable climate and fertile soil help the farmers to produce the finest pear varieties in the Kingdom, making Tabuk a vital national agricultural hub, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Sunday.

Pear cultivation is widespread in the region, with more than 15,000 trees and an annual production capacity exceeding 750 tons.

The peak harvest season falls in July and August, when the fruit reaches its prime ripeness.

This agricultural success is the result of coordinated efforts between local farmers and relevant authorities, particularly the Tabuk branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, which provides guidance on modern farming techniques.

Tabuk’s fertile landscape has made it an attractive destination for both farmers and investors.

The region is home to over 14,000 farms covering approximately 270,000 hectares, producing a wide range of crops including pears, peaches, apricots, grapes, and various vegetables.
