ISLAMABAD: Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Abu Qasim Haftar, along with his delegation, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and discussed matters of mutual interest.
During a meeting at the Prime Minister’s House on Friday, Prime Minister Sharif welcomed the Libyan Commander-in-Chief and his delegation to Pakistan.
The meeting discussed cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
The Libyan Commander-in-Chief thanked the Prime Minister for the warm welcome and hospitality extended to him in Pakistan.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif, and Special Assistant to the PM Tariq Fatemi were also present on the occasion.
Earlier today Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff at General Headquarters.
The meeting encompassed discussion on matters of mutual interest, evolving regional dynamics, security challenges, and matters pertaining to defence cooperation, said a press release issued by Pakistan military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
