ISLAMABAD/INDIA: Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and expressed their condolence to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the death of his mother.
Rahul Gandhi said in his tweet that the news of the death of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother, Heeraban is sad. “At this difficult time, I extend my deepest condolences and kindness to him (Modi) and his family.

Heeraben, who was admitted to the hospital in Ahmedabad, died at the age of 99. PM Modi arrived in Gandhinagar to take part in her last rites.
“The glorious century rests at feet of God. In Maa, I have always felt trinity, which contains a journey of an ascetic, the symbol of selfless Karmayogi and the life committed to values,” Modi said in his heartfelt tribute to his mother.
Rahul’s sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also mourned the death of the prime minister’s mother.
Priyanka Gandhi said in her tweet, “Received sad news of the death of the PM Shri Narendra Modi’s mother. May God give place to the departed pious soul at holy feet and give courage to Shri @narendramodi ji and all his family members in these moments of pain,”.
In the blog, the Prime Minister said that his mother’s childhood was extremely difficult compared to his, adding that she lost her mother early in her life, which continued to pain her.
“My mother used to wash utensils at a few houses to help meet household expenses. She would take out time to spin the charkha to supplement our meagre income,” PM Modi wrote, recounting the early days of the family hardship.
