The right-arm pacer reached this milestone when he bowled England opener Ben Duckett during the final session of the second day.
Bumrah’s tally in SENA nations now stands at 148 wickets across 60 innings, overtaking the likes of Akram, and fellow Indians Anil Kumble, Ishant Sharma, and Mohammed Shami.
Most Test wickets by Asian bowlers in SENA:
Jasprit Bumrah – 148* wickets
Wasim Akram – 146 wickets
Anil Kumble – 141 wickets
Ishant Sharma – 130 wickets

Record-breaking dismissal
Following the record-breaking dismissal of Duckett, Bumrah struck once more, removing seasoned England batter Joe Root for 28. This saw England slip to 206/3 in 46.3 overs, responding to India’s hefty first-innings total of 471.
Earlier in the day, India were bowled out for 471, despite having been in a commanding position. England skipper Ben Stokes and pacer Josh Tongue orchestrated a sudden collapse after centuries from Yashasvi Jaiswal, captain Shubman Gill, and wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant.
Gill top-scored for India with 147, closely followed by Pant, who contributed 134. The pair put on a formidable 209-run stand for the fourth wicket.
Jaiswal, who made 101 off 159 deliveries, was dismissed by Stokes on the opening day.
